Logo Mat Guidelines

Manufacturing millions of mats each year, we see just about everything the world of printing has to offer.  And while we would love to accommodate every request, there are several requests we cannot accommodate for ethical or legal reasons.

We are unable to print the following:

  • Vulgar, offensive or defamatory language
  • Obscene, pornographic, or suggestive images
  • Violent images/text
  • Illegal drugs (with the exception of cannabis), drug slang or drug paraphernalia
  • The American flag, state flags, or flags of other countries as it is both unpatriotic and disrespectful to walk on flags.  Emblems for military and first responders are the exception and will be produced.

We are prohibited from printing the following without proper documentation of licensure or written consent from the copyright or trademark holder:

  • Images of celebrities, musicians, icons, movie logos including but not limited to Mickey Mouse, Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, Top Gun.
  • NCAA and professional sports team logos and mascots including but not limited to MLB, MLS, NBA, NFL, NHL, Premier League, WNBA
  • Designer logos, iconography, and patterns including but not limited to Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci, Prada, Louis Vuitton, Burberry
  • NFTs (non-fungible tokens)
  • Greek-letter organizations (fraternities and sororities)
  • Any logo, iconography, or text that is trademarked

Lastly, there is a list of brands that do not allow their logo to be printed on a floor mat for any reason, not even for their own use.  We maintain this list and strictly ensure we honor the wishes of these brands by not creating mat proofs with these logos/brands on them.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q. If I work for a business with a trademarked logo (or a private, technical, or community college or charity) and want to order mats, does that mean I have to contact the corporate marketing or legal teams to get written permission and provide that to you?

A. While you should always ensure you have corporate approval to add the logo to any item, we do not require advance authorization of most corporate logo mats because it is expected that the mats will be used at the logo holder’s business.  But we strongly encourage you to check with your corporate marketing and legal teams in advance to understand specific guidelines they may have in place regarding the use of the logo/brand and ensure they don’t prohibit the use of the logo on floors.

Q. What if my trademarked logo contains the American flag or a representation of it?  Will you print my logo?

A. When flags appear in logos, they are by default rejected, however, if you reach out to us and explain the issue, we will review logos on a case-by-case basis to determine if we can print it without dishonoring the intent of this rule which was designed to prevent the disrespect of any country or state.  Military and first responder logos incorporating images of flags will be produced.
